 #2 - Early Moodboards & General Concept

To begin, I started gathering reference from various sources, including Ghibli films, architecture, concept art, and existing 3D projects, which I have saved to a Pinterest Board.

From this, I have created two very simple moodboards for the landscape and for the building, to get a general feel for the style, vibe, and palette I am going for.

Building

There is far more reference than I have included on this board, but these examples I felt gave a good indication of the sort of shapes, materials, and colours I plan to use.

Landscape

Again, there is more reference than what I have included in this board, but these images match the overall feeling and colours that I want to go for.

Going forward, I have yet to decide if I want to create an entirely bespoke building, or model one to an existing concept. Making something unique will be an additional challenge, and help me to develop my design skills, but I am very aware of time constraints, and also worried that my amateur attempts at concepting will only set back the final result.

I will also be making more detailed and specific moodboards as the project progresses, and as I come to produce specific assets. Trees, rocks, foliage, and individual materials will likely all have their own moodboards, for example.
